Our adult day health program serves as a lifeline for family caregivers, as well as elderly and disabled individuals around Whatcom County.
We are able to provide this service by employing experienced staff, forming important community partnerships, and with the help of dedicated volunteers who share their time and talents.
NWADH is currently looking for volunteers to assist in these areas:
- One-on-one visits: 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. or 3 p.m. – 4 p.m, Monday through Friday. Volunteers socialize and visit with NWADH program members while they wait for buses at our transportation hub (Christ the King Church in the Cordata area).
- Coffee hour: 10:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m., Monday through Friday. Volunteers serve coffee and socialize with program members at our Lynden campus.
- Water color instructor: 10:30 a.m. – noon, any week day you are available. Volunteer artists guide our program members through the painting process, offering suggestions and assistance along the way. Supplies are provided.
- Musical entertainment: 1:30 p.m. – 2:15 p.m., any week day you are available. Volunteers sing, play the piano or share their talents with other instruments.
Interested in giving back to local elderly and disabled individuals? Contact NWADH’s program director Mary Faber Wynstra at 360-306-3031 or via email at email@example.com.
Note: all program volunteers must pass a background check (at no cost).
