Northwest Adult Day Health’s memory care & wellness program* is designed specifically for Whatcom County members who have Alzheimer’s disease or another memory loss diagnosis. This specialized program adds an extra hour to the standard adult day health program.
During this added hour, our experienced and trained staff members work to promote:
- Improved strength, balance and stamina via a 20 minute walk and balance exercises
- Memory and emotional well-being stimulation through cognitively challenging activities
A unique contract with the Veteran’s Administration makes those with VA benefits eligible for participation in this program.
Contact Northwest Adult Day Health & Wellness Center or your VA social worker for more information.
*Note: NWADH includes a memory care program, not a memory care unit. Our staff provides enriching activities and general supervision for members who can follow basic direction–the program is not set-up to care for Alzheimer’s and dementia patients who have a history of wandering.
A memory care unit, with more intensive (24-hour per day, seven days a week) supervision, is available next door at Christian Health Care Center.
